If you have ever bought or sold a boat before, you will know that generally Yacht Brokers charge the seller
anywhere between 8 & 10% of the agreed sale price for their commission.
Which is around 4 x the amount you would pay an Estate agent to sell your house!
For this, they will normally take a few photos, make an inventory, put the boat on their website,
and possibly advertise themselves in a boating magazine.
They show propective buyers around the boat, and generally be the 'middleman' for offers made for the boat.
So if you let's say put your boat up for sale at 100,000€ the commission payable would be 8,000€ + IVA.
This means that the seller needs to obtain 'top dollar' for his boat and in turn the buyer pays more.
Which also means in a lot of cases that the boat takes longer to sell.
